Joining the PPL Communications Team

PPL’s Communications team plays a vital role in promoting the PPL brand within the music industry and among licensees. They are responsible for organizing the Annual General Meeting and various external events for PPL.

Responsibilities of the Events Manager

As the Events Manager at PPL, you will utilize your extensive experience in managing a wide range of events, both in-house and at agencies. Your responsibilities will include event development, delivery, and project management, with a focus on collaborating with senior executives. The role may also involve people management, making previous experience in this area highly advantageous.

You will primarily concentrate on external events to enhance PPL’s visibility within member and industry communities. Key events you will lead or support include the Annual General Meeting, Annual Performer Meeting, and other outreach activities such as sponsorships, partnerships, conferences, and webinars. Your strategic thinking, tactical action, and adept management of multiple workstreams will be essential in this role.

Additionally, you will work closely with PPL’s Communications team to promote the brand through event-related marketing materials and manage corporate and member-related merchandise. Keeping event information updated on PPL’s website and briefing the social media and Community Manager on all activities will also be part of your responsibilities. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure efficient event administration and organization will be key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing operational support for all PPL owned events
  • Writing and proofreading event invitations and conference programs
  • Overseeing the maintenance of PPL’s guest list database
  • Sourcing marketing materials for events and liaising with printers and designers
  • Managing PPL’s merchandise stock levels
  • Supporting the Social Media and Community Manager with events-related social media promotion
  • Documenting feedback from events attendees and partners for evaluation purposes

Requirements for the Role

  • A minimum of 3 years of event management experience
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships with key stakeholders and customers
  • Proactive nature with problem-solving capabilities and adaptability to changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive teamwork approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
